The Archaic Period spanned many thousands of years starting near the end of the Paleo Period. The Early Archaic started around 8,000 years before present time (BP) and ended around 5,500 BP. This is when the Hardins, Dovetails, Kirks and Graham Caves were produced. Mid-Archaic started around 6,000 BP and ended around 2,500 BP with the addition of the Pine Tree, LeCroy, and Bentons. The Late Archaic Period started sometime around 3,000 PB and had the addition of the Ashtabulas, Etleys, and Turkeytails. The Archaic Period ended about 1,000 years ago at the beginning of the Woodland Period.
